With the latest technology available so easily, everyone is just snapping away trying to capture that special moment or taking a sexy, cute, attractive photo of themselves so that they can show it to their friends on facebook, friendster, etc....
The secret is in the pose. (That alot of people will start to go on diet, go for a fake tan, putting on heavy makeups...) But the secret is in the pose even if you are not looking your best.
So how are we going to appear 10 pounds thinner in photos?? To achieve that, you will have to take up alot of practice these tips in front of a mirror, but we suggest lock yourself up when doing that cos you do not wanna be caught appearing vain.
IMPORTANT - When taking a photo it's also important that the photographer does not snap the picture from below. This adds another 20-50 pounds to the 10 pounds automatically and annoying added by the camera. Find out why cameras add 10 pounds in this article by Geek Sugar.
Secret No. 1: Pull head forward slightly to minimize any appearance of a double chin. Think of having a long neck like a gazelle. But pls do not over do it as well or everyone will know what you are trying to do. Hence the practise..
Secret No 2: Always turn partially sideways to the camera, planting one foot in front of the other. Point your toe to the camera and place your weight on your back foot. Or you can try standing like a ballerina with crossing of one leg infront of the other, then turn your body 45-degree angle away from the camera but keep your head and shoulders towards the camera. Always stand straight, if you stoop, it will automatically look like a shapeless sack. Straight back can do a miracle as it will make you look taller.
Secret No. 3: Remember, Pull shoulders back, chest forward and gently suck stomach in. **DO NOT suck your stomach so far in that your ribs are showing causing those who see the photo to cluck to themselves and laugh at you.. It doesn't take a professional to know that you are doing the "sucking-in of stomach thingy".
Secret No. 4: Never ever keep your arms close to you giving that upper arm flab flattening effect which makes you flabbier. Try hold arms slightly away from your body. Same applies when you sit down, your thighs are being flatten and hence making you flabbier.
Secret No. 5: Do the "pretend to look away" face. Look away from the camera and then turn towards it and breaking it into a smile just before the photographer CLICKS. This will make your smile appearing fresh, not frozen. This is the toughest and will take alot of practise.
Secret No. 6: Placing or holding objects infront of parts that you prefer to hide is another way. A purse or corsage infront of your belly. A jacket slung over the shoulder etc... Well some will say, putting hands on your hips will help as well. As this will help to make your shoulders look less rounded. If you find that your thighs are not attractive, try wearing midi or maxi skirt to hide them. DO not think that black makes you look thinner. Wearing a one pce, or overall will do the trick too! It doesn't matter what the color is as One color tends to elongate your figure.
Secret No. 7: Remember that the body part closest to a camera will seem to be larger than others. Try classic trick: cross arms on chest and slightly bend down to photographers to highlight your bust, but not other parts of the body. If your belly or backside will be closest to a camera, they will get the main attention and will appear to be bigger then they actually are. Try to take camera's attention to body parts that you feel confident about and no one will notice the things that you would rather hide away.
Secret No. 8: Flashes in Sunlight. It's all about the lighting. Why use flashes in sunlight you may ask? Well flashes actually override the shadows that the overhead sunlight might cast on your face hence showing under-eye as well as chin shadows.
Secret No. 9: Get a shot from above. Which is also another best way to hide that double chin. For a group photo, usually everyone wants to look good and outshine, but for an equal "share", everyone can stand on a chair and look up at the photographer to get a got shot.
Secret No. 10: 7. Forget about looking thin and just relax, think of happy moments.. an expert had said that the best thing a subject can do to look good in photographs is to be relaxed and happy. Try looking at the photographer instead of the camera Look at the photographer, not at the camera. If you think too much on how to post, you will look uncomfortable and unnatural. Be confident!
**Everyone is beautiful in their own different way.
